The prostate

This work is a monographic treatise that correlates the medical information obtained in the different studies carried out on human embryos, in the living and in the corpse. The author uses numerous diagrams, histological preparations and high-quality anatomical and surgical images to describe the morphology, course and interrelationships of the aponeurosis of Denonvilliers, the lateral pelvic fascia, the dorsal venous complex of the penis and their relationships, the postero angles -lateral and the route of the nerves that form the postero-lateral bundle or "bandelette". All this research is complemented by the anatomical-ultrasound correlation of the prostate gland and the morphological study of the urethral sphincter. With the anatomical-surgical correlation that he carries out, the author greatly facilitates the learning of open, laparoscopic or robotic prostate surgery for Urology residents and urologists in training. The work is prefaced by the eminent urologist Dr. Patrick C. Walsh, professor at Johns Hopkins University, and consists of ten chapters in which several professors from the Universities of Cádiz, Badajoz and Seville, the directors of the Surgery Center, have collaborated. of Minimum Invasion Jesús Usón and eighteen residents trained in the Urology Service of the Virgen Macarena University Hospital in Seville. The research documented in this work was sponsored by Jannsen Spain and was carried out within the framework of a collaboration contract for the optimization of resources in Urological Pathology between the Research Foundation of the University of Seville and the Joaquín Albarrán Foundation. The economic benefits of this work have been donated by the author entirely to a Parish in Seville, which will use them for social purposes.
